There was something on the radio this morning.

A bunch of people were talking about the worst days at work the ever had. Let me tell you, there were some doozies: that made me think of something that happened a few years ago...

(For those who don't know, I'm a fourth generation construction worker

) Well, me and my father were working at a job near Washington D.C. - it was a guys house, renovated, updated, cleaned up, the whole shebang. I was working on some decorative molding in front of a kitchen cabinet, ready to install the last piece. And after I cut it with the saw, I came inside, and lo and behold - it was an inch too short! I reluctantly told my father, who ran out to get another piece from the hardware store - two miles away. So, he gets the piece - and I make the same mistake again. My father ends up running back to the store again, and I end

up doing it again...

I made the same mistake six times...

I learned my lesson that day - my grandfather always told me: "Measure twice, cut once", words to live by...

UPDATE 11-8-2013

I'm working on rewriting my story "His Future Is Shadowed", just because I had a few other ideas to add to the beginning.

And I'm writing a short "Kung Fu Panda" fanfiction - the premise is: Shifu finds his way into an alternate universe where Po has become a conquering warlord...Exciting stuff huh?
